numb

Strange how one forgets something that used to be so familiar. How everything used to perfectly fit into one's reality- the sights, the scents, the sensations.

Stranger still, how indifference clouds every feeling one expects to bear whenever circumstance forces retrospection. And how even the most painful memories fail to evoke any kind of remorse.

Such realization, more than anything else, is a relief. A relief for there no longer exists a reason to put up walls and hide. A relief, knowing that there's no turning back- and that's perfectly alright.

Nevertheless, it's a disturbing thought. For one realizes that no matter how unthinkable it may seem at times, it is indeed possible to forget.
